Speaking of friends, the last couple of months I have had to deal with a series of incidences that got me to rethink my friendships. Other than my faith and family, the friendships I make and keep count. This morning presents a good quiet time away from everybody for more reflection. I'm not particularly hungry, so I'll postpone breakfast to late morning.
- To be present in my current friendship. Live in the moment. Enjoy my friend. Make memories, good memories
- Every time I say goodbye to a friend, to keep that moment in mind. Our handshake. That eye contact. The hug we share. The "see you soon" wave. The kiss blown over the shoulder as we walk away. These are the moment I take with me, so I make them count.
- To do my part to seek to understand a friend during a misunderstanding. Learn to ask "why". How many times have I made assumptions; she's doing this because bla bla bla, He's quiet because... But how many of these times have I been wrong? 100%.
- To know when to let go. Some good friendships reach a point when they stop working.
